Vital week ahead for Town
The next seven days provide a vital test of our Super 12 credentials, starting with Friday's visit to Gap Connah's Quay.
On Wednesday we make the long haul to Pembrokeshire to take on Haverfordwest at New Bridge Meadow then 48 hours later face Bangor City at Bastion Gardens in a dress rehearsal for our Welsh Cup semi-final showdown on April 10.
If we take seven points from these three games then a huge step towards a top ten finish will have been achieved as many of our rivals for a place among the elite face each other over the next couple of games. Town are free of serious injury and suspension worries and will enter each match in a positive frame of mind.
One departure from the squad this week is Alec Williams who has elected to join the ever-growing ex-Town contingent at Denbigh in the Cymru Alliance League. Alec had a flying start to the campaign, scoring twice in our 3-2 win at Aberystwyth, but failed to command a regular place in the first team squad and I am sure we all wish him well at Central Park and he will always be a welcome visitor at Bastion Gardens.
Alec made 11 WPL appearances in total, scoring three goals. Thanks for everything Alec and good luck in everything you do.
Away from team matters, work on the ground continues apace and we are a gnat's whisker away from ticking all the boxes for a domestic licence grading. The volunteers have put a phenomenal amount of hard graft in over the last six weeks and the infrastructure should meet the relevant criteria - fingers crossed!
The club shop sale also continues and there are just a few items left, we have a number of medium only fleece jackets to clear at £5 while bench coats and Formula One jackets are down to £40. If you take a small or medium size then our last few polos should fit at £8.
Look out for some new merchandise ahead of our Welsh Cup semi-final with Bangor City on April 10. Pre-orders will be taken for a limited edition commemorative badge and a one-off match scarf - numbers will be low so get in early if you want one. See Mark Jones for further details.
