The future is blue...

The future is blue...

In answer to various questions I have been asked by several supporters of late, we will be changing our colours to blue to celebrate our centenary season but for ONE YEAR ONLY. For 2010/11 the first choice strip will be royal blue shirts, white shorts and royal blue socks as the team wore back in 1910.

The familiar all-red strip will be our second kit for next season, again for 12 months and then we shall revert to the present set-up of a red first team kit with blue as a change colour. Negotiations are currently being held with kit suppliers and a range of centenary merchandise will of course be available to supporters.

More information and some preview pictures will be made available once a deal is cut and dried. I hope this helps quash some of the rumours that have been knocking around lately.

The centenary year will see a lot of prestigious events taking place and hopefully a high-profile game to mark the anniversary itself ...oh yes, and a lifesize bronze statue of Neil Gibson has been commissioned to replace that naked woman holding her baby up in the High Street. Only joking...or am I?

Mark, with my treasurers hat on, we could now ask Chester for their kits now they dont need them, save some money.

Very sad situation at Chester Willo. Always my first footballing love but if Mike Harries has his way it looks like we'll be Chester New Saints or some such nonsense next year! Can't believe it's 35 years since I saw the League Cup semi-finals against Villa when we beat Leeds and Newcastle en route - Chester a game away from Wembley, it will never happen again. Hope Harries doesn't paint Deva Stadium green and white!
