Centenary Draw replaces 100 Club

Centenary Draw replaces 100 Club

THE weekly 100+ Club draw is to close with immediate effect and will be replaced by a new Centenary 50 Club Draw which will start this month.

The 100+ Club will be disbanded after organiser Henry Porter decided he did not wish to continue running the competition. The club will now run a new draw which will offer two monthly prizes of £100 and £50.

To join, entrants - initially limited to a realistic 50 members - will need to complete a standing order form (available at Saturday's match with Aberystwyth) for £10 per month, the prize draw will be made on the last Saturday of each month by an independent arbitrator. Payment by standing order is preferable but should you want to join and pay cash, arrangements will be made to collect your subs but these must be in whole months (ie units of £10).

When an additional ten members are recruited, the prize money will increase, as it will every time the scheme's membership grows by 10 customers.

The 100+ Club had become a time consuming affair to administer and the new scheme will be a much more streamlined and effective way of raising funds. Any 100+ Club members who had paid in advance but do not want to join the new scheme will be reimbursed in full should they so wish.

The scheme has been called the Centenary Club draw to coincide with the many projects planned for the club's 100th anniversary celebrations which will start in September of this year.

Similar schemes are run by many non-league clubs and prove an effective and more importantly, manageable way of raising funds.

will winner be paid in cash or cheque? I ask as I believe this was one of the reasons HP quit. When punters pay a quid in cash they want their winnings in cash in my experience!
