Carding impresses Town boss

Carding impresses Town boss

Former Wrexham prospect Luke Carding trained with Town today and manager Neil Gibson is looking at him over the course of the next week or so with a view to hopefully signing him if things go well.

Luke is another local player living in Prestatyn with a good pedigree having recently being released by Wrexham and he featured in a Prestatyn Town first team five-a-side competition at the Sports Centre on Sunday - and ended up on the winning side!

Manager Neil Gibson said: "It was good fun actually, on Friday I made myself, Fishy, Chico and Gaz Wilson player-managers of the four teams and made all 16 other players participating available to be signed by the managers after 7pm Friday in our own  version of the transfer window.

"The banter was flying all weekend and certain players were in high demand, Dunty in fact held contract talks with Fish and Willow before staying loyal to Chico who must have thought he was managing Manchester City as he tried to sign everyone! He even had Fishy in his team at one point forgetting that he had his own!

"However I am pleased to report that it was all in vain as Team Gibson ( myself, Griffo, Jack Lewis, Chris Davies and Luke Carding) were victorious. with Team Chico ( Chico, Houlty, Haysie, Andy Davies and Dunty) coming second.

"Team Wilson ( Willow, Jolly, Mr Dead aka Paul O'Neill, Parker, Carl Murray and super sub Dave Cameron) came in in third place but Team JFC played better than their position suggests, coming fourth with (Fish, Dan Evans, Alec Williams, Steve Harris and Ethan Woodfine) although Dan Evans was named player of the tournament!

"The winning team took home boxes of Milky Bars kindly supplied by a former Nestle rep but naming no names, however he was man of the match against Rhyl at Belle Vue!"
